A vast majority of this blog is intended as an archive of historical information for my own personal interest — a subset of thoughts, experiments, projects, etc, that I might want to look back on sometime in the future.
If you’re reading this and you are not me, you might also find the posts to be of interest.
I usually respond to the name Grenville, and I’m currently a father of two, a husband and guy-who-plays-with-gadgets. I’ve taken on a number of appearances over the years….
For ‘work’ I am currently a Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology, in Melbourne, Australia. My research interests were based around the Centre for Advanced Internet Architecture from March 2002 to February 2017, and the Internet For Things (I4T) Research Lab from March 2017 onwards.
I started this blog site in January 2006, intending it to be the successor to my http://gja.space4me.com home page (which had existed for many years prior). It took me until June 2012 to start adding content, and since then I’ve back-filled the blog with a whole host of posts that pre- and post-date January 2006 (using content I’d previously created and stored elsewhere). For example, one of my earliest blog posts about an event in June 1999 was actually posted here in June 2012. So now you know 🙂
